  1. As a class Brainstorm - What might employment issues involve
  2. Use the internet AND Textbook to complete the glossary worksheet attached below. 
  3. As a refresher, use the internet to research information about different types of employment. Organise the information into the table contained with the 'Types of Employment' worksheet attached below. 
  4. Complete worksheet titled 'Jobs for All' , attached below.

RESEARCH
Use http://www.seek.com.au/ to find three job advertisements that you would be interested in pursuing. 
Answer the following about each advertisement:
  • What type of employment is it ?
  • What skills are needed for the job?
  • What experience is required for the job?
  • What questions would you ask the employer if you had an opportunity to speak to him/her?

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?

  1. What educational options are available to school leavers?
  2. Rank them in order of the most beneficial form of education and explain why.
  3. Thinking about a possible career for yourself (Or one just for fun) complete the document to the left 'A day in the life of'. You will need to do a bit of research in locating the required information for that particular career path. This needs to be completed as an individual.
  4. Consider the following scenario for your chosen career/profession.
"Course enrolments are at an all time low. School leavers do not seem interested in pursuing this career. We need you to put together a publicity campaign which convinces school leavers to do this course. The main selling point will be the types of things this course can offer as well as the positives and advantages about pursuing this career."
