Tasks:
  1. Copy and define the glossary words into your books. 
  2. Create a Venn diagram with one side labelled 'Rights" and one side labelled "Responsibilities."  As a class we will brainstorm the unique aspects and the middle will show where the ideas interact. 
  3. Complete Question 1 in books from pg. 275 of textbook. 
  4. Read through the .pdf "Convention on the Rights of a Child (attached below) and open the UDHR http://www.un.org/en/documents/udhr/ 
  5. Draw the following table into your workbook. Link a Universal Right to a Child's Right. (In other words which Universal Rights are similar to the rights of a Child?

  • Research information on the rights and responsibilities for ONE of the following:
    • Commercial 
    • family
    • work 
    • offender
    • victim
    • witness
    • defendant/plaintiff
  • You are to develop a brochure/information sheet that could inform one of the above about their rights and responsibilities. 
  • The .pdf (left) "Different Rights and Responsibilities" is a great start. Remember, when researching, ensure you are using Australian websites so we can ensure they are compliant with Australian laws.
